外部硬盘无法正确安装？

我需要一些帮助，上周五我已经转到 Ubuntu（这就是为什么这个愚蠢的问题）并且永久删除了 Windows（我厌倦了它）但是我有一个 500gbytes 的 wd 外置硬盘拒绝安装：）我知道有很多关于如何操作的教程但我只是不想丢失硬盘内的所有内容我收到的错误如下：

   or it was not setup correctly (e.g. by not using mdadm --build ...),
   or a wrong device is tried to be mounted,
   or the partition table is corrupt (partition is smaller than NTFS),
   or the NTFS boot sector is corrupt (NTFS size is not valid).
Failed to mount '/dev/sdc1': Invalid argument
The device '/dev/sdc1' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.
Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a
partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?
