\setcounter{} 毁了我的文件，它不再编译

我本来想\paragraph添加第三个子节，但第三个子节根本没有编号。有人建议我使用setcounter（请参阅我的相关问题：有 \subsubsubsection 命令吗？）。问题是我的论文编译失败了！我删除了命令，但我的文件仍然无法正常工作！我使用了：

\setcounter{tocdepth}{4}
\setcounter{secnumdepth}{4}

会发生什么事？

章节编号最多为secnumdepth3 个章节，文章中\paragraph为 4 级标题，因此要使用编号段落\setcounter{secnumdepth}{4}
