我自己修复了这个问题gnome-shell-extension-appindicator，删除了 ubuntu 17.10 中的默认设置，如报告所示这里. 替换为topicon 加。
Topicon plus 不受此问题影响。此外，一些使用 appindicator 时不会在系统托盘中显示图标的应用程序，使用 topicon 时可以正常工作（例如对我来说是 HexChat）。
Appindicator 需要 Canonical 的改进。希望 Ubuntu 18.04 能有所改进。
