我找到了解决方案，但恐怕我太快指责操作系统了。

我的显卡是 Intel HD 2500，根据这一页它的最大分辨率似乎是 DisplayPort 的 2560x1600@60，HDMI 的 1920x1080@60。所以我需要升级我的显卡（或者至少买一条 DP 线）。

编辑后补充：事实上，即使使用该显卡，4k 分辨率也可通过 DisplayPort 工作。我想这不是 HDMI 电缆的问题，因为它是随显示器附带的。
