BibTeX 中作者姓名中的逗号被保留，以便将姓名写成姓氏，名字。不同作者之间以“and”隔开。

虽然你可以写名字 姓氏（没有逗号），有时需要使用另一种形式：当姓氏包含多个标记时，如佩尔·布林奇·汉森. BibTex 会认为布林奇是名字，因此你必须将其写为布林奇·汉森，Per. 逗号也用于分隔少年部分。由于所有这些原因，解析多位作者的字符串（其中逗号也是不同名称的分隔符）会非常困难，因此使用了“and”。
