我使用 Linux Mint 20，也遇到了类似的问题。我发现这个问题发生在 Flatpak 版本的 Atom 上，这是软件管理器中的默认 Atom 包。

我通过删除 Atom 的 Flatpak 版本并从 Atom 官方页面安装 Atom 的 deb 版本解决了这个问题 (https://atom.io/download/deb)。Atom 的 deb 版本与 latex 包配合良好。
