不确定这是否是寻求此类帮助的正确地方，但我时不时会出现视觉卡顿的情况，并且无法推断出原因。

我的电脑是两三个月前买的，所以还挺新的。没有买单独的 gpu，因为我觉得我不需要。我使用的是 Ubuntu 14.04（上个月从 12.04 升级而来）。大多数时候，四个核心的 CPU 使用率约为 15-30%，内存使用率约为 15-20%，我使用的是 SSD 内置磁盘。有了这些数字，我预计在浏览网页时不会出现太多延迟，但在随机时间，电脑似乎会卡顿或冻结一秒钟。例如，打开文件浏览器时速度很快，其他时候也很快，我播放 gif 文件时速度很好，但后来速度随机变慢。我认为不应该发生的最明显的事情是，当我像现在这样输入大文本时，字母显示速度变慢。打字不应该导致太多延迟，不是吗？就好像计算机偶尔会出现故障，但我却无法查明原因。

我以前没有遇到过这个问题，最近才开始注意到。它是在我升级到 14.04 时开始的吗？另一个例子是，当我在更新后再次使用 compizconfig 管理器时，每次我更改设置时，它都会冻结屏幕几分钟，然后才能再次工作。这个问题现在已经消失了。我也尝试过使用其他轻量级桌面，认为这可能会有所不同，但问题仍然存在。所以基本上我尝试了随机的、可能不相关的东西，浪费了我的时间，不知道从哪里开始寻找。

我确实遇到了完全相同的问题，而且硬件配置也几乎相同。在我看来，这个问题在 Ubuntu 14.04 和 Firefox 33 中变得更糟。这个问题的很大一部分似乎是由 Firefox (33) 引起的，特别是由我最终停用的 Flash 插件引起的。但这并不能完全解决问题。“卡顿”每隔几秒钟就会出现短暂而稳定的间隔，尤其是当 Firefox 已经运行了几个小时时。它会影响所有应用程序。LibreOffice 用户在打字时可能会注意到完全相同的行为，如 Peter Raeves 在上面所述。

我要做的第一件事就是

  1. 配置 LibreOffice 并增加缓存内存和
  2. 在 Firefox 中停用 Flash 插件并重新启动 Firefox。

可以通过打开新标签页并输入 来进一步优化 Firefox about:config。然后设置network.http.pipelining为true，设置network.http.prox.pipelining为true，设置network.dns.disableIPV6为false。这将带来一些改进（但仍不能完全解决问题）。

我想知道是否有其他人遇到过类似的问题，以及是否找到了根本原因和解决方案。如果 Mozilla 最终能够解决困扰 Ubuntu 用户多年的这个问题，那就太好了。
