我不知道 Win7 怎么样，因为我没有，但 Ubuntu 的桌面环境 (=DE)“Unity”看起来很不错，但消耗资源非常多。你的 CPU、RAM、显卡是什么？如果它们太弱，这可能是导致发热的原因。一切都运行流畅吗？还是有轻微的“挂起”，好像电脑太忙？如果这是原因，你可以尝试安装另一个需要更少资源的 DE，如 xfce 或 lxde。也可能是 Ubuntu 有不同的电源管理、风扇控制等设置，但我不知道。问候。
