我浪费了整整一天的时间试图开始mathptmx工作。在 texmaker 中，我在进行快速构建或 pdflatex 时收到此错误：

首先，我使用默认设置安装了最新版本的 texlive（这个东西太大了）。然后我花了很长时间尝试运行 tlmgr。我终于可以运行它了。然后在这个网站的其他地方，有人建议：

~$ tlmgr install rsfs
tlmgr: package repository http://ctan.uib.no/systems/texlive/tlnet

和

~$ tlmgr install times
tlmgr: package repository http://ctan.uib.no/systems/texlive/tlnet

这让我无计可施。然后我从 CTAN 下载了和freenfss.zip，lw35nfss.zip并将它们解压到/etc/texmf和/usr/share/texmf，但仍然不起作用。还有其他目录，名为texmf，但我不确定要使用哪一个。

我记得过去我使用一些 apt-get install 安装了 TeX Live，但我记不清是从 Ubuntu 终端安装的。但今天我再次安装了它，没有删除以前的安装，而是使用我在 TeX 用户组网站上找到的 unix 安装程序，使用所有默认设置：http://www.tug.org/
