我有一台戴尔笔记本电脑，外接显示器（三星 SyncMaster 931c）。

我的笔记本电脑显示器已识别，我可以调整其最佳分辨率。
我的外接显示器仍然未知，因此我只能使用较低的分辨率（1024x768）：

我尝试了“检测显示器”按钮，但是它不起作用，什么也没有发生。

我最近从 Ubuntu 12.04 升级到了 12.10。
之前一切都运行正常。

显示器电缆松了。
当我拔下电缆并再次将其牢牢插入时，一切突然正常。

我觉得自己有点傻，因为我从来没有想过仅仅触摸一根松散的电缆会有什么帮助。

我将 HDMI 线缆重新连接到显示器上的第二个 HDMI 端口，解决了“未知显示”的问题

只需检查您的显示器指定的 VGA 电缆。VGA 电缆有不同类型。

我也遇到了同样的问题，我使用的是戴尔 s2216h（2016 年 7 月生产）。我测试了 2-3 根电缆，但没有成功。

最后我尝试使用“Dell Hotron VGA Cable 20276 VW-1 30V E246588 AWM Male to Male”，它检测到了。

我不知道它是否能解决你的问题，但这也会帮助你朝这个方向思考。

我关闭了电脑，拔掉了显示器电源插头和 HDMI。启动后，我连接了显示器，一切正常。

仅重新启动或更换电缆对我来说不起作用
