使用 \@textsubscript 时出现 LaTeX 错误

以下序列在早期版本的 MikTeX (2.9.3959) 中有效

\DeclareRobustCommand*\textsubscript[1]{%
    \@textsubscript{\selectfont#1}}
%  \newcommand{\@textsubscript}[1]{%

\makeatother 

但现在抛出以下错误（在 MikTeX 2.9.7152-x64 中）：

 LaTeX Error: Command \@textsubscript already defined.
              Or name \end... illegal, see p. 192 of the manual.

这有一个明显的原因吗？
